Known as America's Top Lifestyle Expert, Mar has been featured on HGTV, the Today Show, QVC, and in the New York Times; as the in-house lifestyle expert for NBC CT, he regularly appears in 'Mondays with Mar' segments. He is the author of the LIFE ON MAR’S series: A Four Season Garden and Creating Casual Luxury, acclaimed gardening and design books, both sold world wide. He is the host and Executive Producer of the Emmy-nominated TV series "Life on Mar's: The Home Makeover Show".
Growing up and living in the historically creative Westport, Connecticut, Mar has always been organically connected to the northeast and to business through decades of participation in good-will events and promotions. After winning regional and sectional US figure skating medals, he pursued a career in banking, quickly making a name for himself with Citibank. Later, as a Senior Vice President for Hudson United Bank (known today as TD Bank North), Mar had direct overall management responsibility for the entire state of Connecticut. After years in the financial industry, Mar decided to combine his creative and organizational passions—and his career as a lifestyle expert and gardening guru sprang forth. He has maintained and built his extensive client relationships by continuing to be visible both personally and professionally.

As a lifestyle expert, Mar is a master at creating home and garden design style that is desirable and achievable while instantly connecting with his audience. His unique talents and experience combined with his sophisticated lifestyle of experiencing the world through travel and client contacts mean that Mar understands a wide range of interests. Years of happy clients, testimonials, phone research—and years of social media outreach—has convinced him he can share what he has learned about connecting with audiences to help his clients connect with theirs as well.
